Program Description

 

The GROB apprenticeship is a four-year program where apprentices receive on-the-job training at GROB while earning a company-paid Associates degree in Engineering Technology through Rhodes State College. Apprentices train in our apprenticeship labs and work alongside experienced workers in the manufacturing and assembly areas of our facility to further develop their technical skills. The combination of their GROB training and Rhodes coursework will prepare apprentices to become highly-skilled technicians in various mechanical and electrical departments throughout our facility.

The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for educating potential customers on GROB’s Universal Machine (UM) product line and developing a market for these high end CNCs. The opportunity to sell our UM product line exists within the aerospace, mold and die, and medical device industries as well as standard job shops around the country. The Regional Sales Manager will be required to develop their technical skills related to the GROB product, knowing in detail what we do and sell, prospecting successful technical sales in the future. The South East territory will include Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and Georgia. The successful candidate may reside anywhere within the defined territory.

Fluids Technician

The primary responsibility of the Fluid Power Technician will be the building and implementation of fluid controls systems into custom Grob machines and robotic assembly equipment. This position will need to interpret information delivered by Fluid Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering to successfully assemble the fluids systems which include hydraulics, pneumatics, lubrication and metal cutting fluid controls systems.

The primary responsibility of the Deburrer will be the deburring and preparation of custom parts to part print specification.

 

Roles & Responsibilities

 

  • Determine the most efficient processing steps to include deburring, cleaning, and preparation of parts after machining while maintaining product quality
  • Load and adjust work pieces onto equipment or worktables using hand tools, hoist, and lifting straps
  • Trim, scrape, or deburr parts using grinders, chisels, scrapers, or other hand tools and equipment
  • Safely and efficiently transport equipment and materials
